The album cover for CLPPNG shows a black image of a warped chain link fence against a plain white background. In the corner, where the fence is torn, is the name of the album "CLPPNG". The name of the group (clipping.) isn't shown but is similar enough to the album name to be recognized. The simple but distorted image used for the cover suggests the music is similarly distorted, which it is because music genre is alternative rap/hip hop with often dark and graphic lyrics.
The back of the album is a similar image of a fence but the bottom middle is distorted and pulled up giving room for the barcode and some small text for the album.
The album cover and back cover do not show images of any of the group or the name of the group which is a convention of the genre, it also may mean that the music is more important than themselves and their fame.
clipping. - Story 2
This music video is for one of the songs on the CLPPNG album. In this video the music is directly linked to the visuals because the video follows the story of same man in song. The music tells a story indepth so the music video is only simple. The video is very jumpy and cuts (and mostly repeats parts) in time with the music, this also fits with the sound of the music because it gradually gets faster and faster and the cuts get quicker and more frequent. In between some of these cuts there are very short clips of fire to foreshadow what happens at the end of the video.
The actually face of the man in the video isn't shown, this is possibly to keep in line with the song, we find out so much about him including where he works and that he has kids etc. but we never know what he looks like. The shots are mostly close up and mid shots, we see at the beginning he is dressed in a suit jacket and a scarf and as the video goes on he loses clothes as he starts running and realizing what is happening. At the climax of the video he gets to his house, the music changes and we see very fast cuts as we see his burning house, him running and his reaction on screen at once.
This video is quite conventional for the genre because the artists aren't shown in the video and the video is quite experimental although it follows a simple story, the video fitting with the music is also a genre convention because it shows that the music is important compared to other artists which may make a music video of just themselves and it not really relating to the music.

Can you look at other album covers within your genre to show how conventionally the designs do not include an image of the artists and are often abstract.
